BENEFITS TO PARK COUNTY

Aurora Water has been working collaboratively with Park County for years. Discussions were underway prior to major planning work to assess the county’s needs. The construction and operations of Wild Horse Reservoir would bring substantial economic benefits to Park County and the region. Construction alone would provide significant financial benefits to the surrounding area.

It is too early in the planning process to fully explore additional recreational and commercial opportunities to draw locals and visitors to a new reservoir. Aurora Water currently works with Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) on the recreational management of Spinney Mountain Reservoir and would likely discuss a similar arrangement with CPW for Wild Horse.
