Summer Work Update
This summer, crews have been conducting natural resource and cultural surveys at the southern alternative site and Spinney Mountain Reservoir to collect data that will inform the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process. The natural resource surveys have identified and mapped wetlands, wildlife habitats, vegetation, and more in the area, while the cultural surveys have examined the area for historical or archaeological significance by identifying artifacts, structures, or other culturally important features.
In July, crews completed geotechnical assessments that gathered soil and rock samples to help Aurora Water study the physical properties at the site and assess construction feasibility and potential constraints.
Thank you to all the landowners who provided the fieldwork crews access to your properties this summer.
