Field Work 2024

Published On: October 17, 2024

This summer and fall, TetraTech, Aurora Water’s geotechnical engineering firm, spent 13 weeks completing 33 boreholes and about 2,500 feet of drilling to collect rock and soil samples and collecting around 4000 feet of additional seismic tomography and survey data. The rock and soil samples will be analyzed in a laboratory to guide dam and pipeline designs. The tomography and survey data will be used to support engineering designs.

Staff are working on the 30%-60% design scopes for both the dam design and pipeline design. A meeting is scheduled in October with the State Engineers Office (SEO), Dam Safety to review the 30% dam design.
