Upcoming Project Update Presentations
Note: The Wild Horse Reservoir Project Events webpage has a recording of the presentation from the February 25, 2026, meeting.
Last year, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) identified several alternative locations for the Wild Horse Reservoir Project that would be evaluated in the environmental review required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). During the process of preparing for the environmental review, Aurora Water evaluated the alternative locations and has learned that one of the alternative locations—the Wild Horse South Reservoir—has some potential advantages compared to the original site.
To hear the latest project updates directly from Aurora Water staff, join us for one of our upcoming presentations:
- February 25, 2026, 7 pm – Virtual presentation. Registration has been closed. A link to the virtual event on Microsoft Teams will be sent out to registrants a couple days prior to the event.
- February 27, 2026, Noon – In-person presentation at Wild Horse Reservoir Project Lunch and Learn at the Hartsel Fire Station (131 Elm Street, Hartsel, CO). Food and drinks will be provided by Aurora Water. No registration is required for the Lunch and Learn at the Hartsel Fire Station. The presentation from Aurora Water staff will begin at 12:15 pm.
Presentations will include updates on:
- Evaluations of the alternative locations
- Permitting and approval processes
- Proposed path forward
